Kijiji.com - the New CraigsList? More Free Traffic!
Yes it may have a very strange name, but Kijiji.com is a new classified ads website, just like CraigsList. What does that mean for you? More free traffic to your real estate website! One of the best ways to drive free traffic to your website and listings is by using free classified services like CraigsList and Backpage.com, so this just serves as another avenue to get additional free traffic.
Kijiji.com is pretty much just a more colorful version of CraigsList and has already got pretty big in Europe (where CraigsList isn’t as big). But there are two major benefits of using Kijiji.com over CraigsList for real estate agents:
First, the main extra benefit to Realtors using this website is that it actually shows photos in each section’s results, something that CraigsList doesn’t do. Perfect for showing off your new home listing photos! This is the San Diego real estate for sale page, so you can see what I mean:

Second, you can sign up for alerts notifying you of new things of interest to you. This is great for the consumer, and I have always wondered why CraigsList doesn’t offer this ability - it means you don’t have to keep on visiting the website everyday in hope of finding what you are looking for. In theory, your home listing on there will work harder and be more efficient because of this new feature.
The strange thing is that this new website is a venture by eBay, who actually own 25% of CraigsList. So in essence, they have created their own competitor! Anyway, I recommend going to check your local real estate section on Kijiji.com and posting your listings. It’s still relatively new, so get in early for some good results. Good luck!
Neat site. We will give it a try here in Atlanta and see how much more exposure our affordable new homes get.
I especially like the “Sort” feature: Newest Ads first, Oldest Ads first, Lowest Price first, Highest Price first. It gives more ads a better chance at more exposure– even after they are a couple days old. (So agents probably will not need to post the same listings as frequently as they do in Craigslist)
This looks good to me. I haven’t investigated as much as I’m going to, but it looks good.
Great idea, Thanks for sharing!
I am always open to new ideas. I will check it out for sure Thanks
Thanks for the real estate news, As a past PR and marketing professional, I understand the importance of being first to use these new avenues for promoting your real estate listings for your clients but also in promoting yourself as the real estate professional in your area. I am glad to see the z57 has a blog, I have been blogging for awhile now. I love my new website designed by z57, http://www.ParadiseRealEstate.us. It’s stats are already showing in search engines and I expect even with the slow down in the real estate market, my site paradiserealestate.us will be able to rise to the top.
Thanks

Yeah craigslist is great. Ive been using a craigslist posting tool http://www.craygo.com to post to the craigslist real estate/housing sections. I thought I’d share the tip with you. With the craigslist tool you can easily post to all top cities, or stay within the top listing of one city.
I have received a lot of hits on the Kijiji site.
However, I don’t belive you can put a any links in the comment section.
Any ideas besides copy and pasting?
