It's fun taking a look at our past efforts and seeing where we need to renew, reinvigorate, or improve. Let's take a look specifically at your branding...what should you change? And what should you keep the same?
Here are Some Items to Consider Updating:
Your Profile Photo
How old is the photo on your business cards and social media accounts? Is it current? Will your online real estate leads recognize you after meeting you in real life for the first time? Does your profile photo accurately depict your business? Just like using a professional photographer in listing photos, it wouldn’t hurt to also use a professional for your headshot too. It brings more legitimacy to your business compared to a vacation photo where you cropped out your family.
Your E-mail Address
What does your email address say about you? Are you still using an email provider from the late 90s like hotmail, aol, or yahoo? Then you might be missing out on some important emails due to the strict anti-spam security measures implemented on their platforms. If you are using the word “REALTOR(#)” in your email address, then it would be wise to double check if your email address is in compliance with the NAR. If you do not have a domain-specific email address, then we would strongly advise that you do so this year! Jonathan@DenverHomes.com looks much more professional than email@example.com.
There are many reasons to build a new website, and many reasons to keep the website you have. If you are being provided a website by your brokerage, then we would recommend creating a new one for you. That website brands the brokerage, not you. And you don’t get to keep that website if you leave. Most websites have the potential to bring you business, however that business is only generated if you know how internet leads work. A website is more than an online business card, it is a web store. Most shoppers will window shop before making a purchase, but knowing how the typical home buyer thinks is crucial in influencing them to return.
What you need is a system that provides all the tools for you, and also teaches you how to use them to ensure a return on your investment.
