Why Pinterest is perfect for real estate agents and their marketing

Many of us got hooked on Pinterest for the great recipes and home décor inspiration, but it's become the ideal avenue for real estate agents to connect with leads. Why? It’s simple. Real estate is visual and so is Pinterest. Images are shared on social media more than any other kind of content and if you aren’t utilizing this channel, you are missing out!

Here are just a few of the many reasons that Pinterest is perfect for real estate agents.

1.You can target local leads

When sharing content on Pinterest, including your local neighborhood, town, city etc. with your pin allows your local audience to find your pins. This is a benefit because now you are sharing useful content and hopefully building a relationship with local, potential leads.

2. Give tips and advice

In addition to sharing attention-grabbing images, also provide advice and tips for your audience. You don’t need to be a graphic designer to create good-looking pins. Free sites like Canva are very user-friendly and can help you build great looking images in no time at all. You can connect these back to the URL of a specific landing page or blog. Not only will this help build your following on Pinterest, but it will also increase traffic.

3. Drive traffic to your blog/website with plug-in

Add a plugin to your blog that will allow others to pin your images on Pinterest. This will help drive traffic and exposure to your website and/or blog. Now people can pin valuable information with interesting images and others can follow the links to your site. It's a win-win situation.

4. Build your network

As with other social media platforms, there is always a great chance to connect with others and build your network. Comment and share other pinners content and start building a relationship. These relationships can lead to potential business down the line.

5. Posts on Pinterest have the longest lifespan of all other social media sites

One incredible difference between Pinterest and other social media platforms is that you don’t just simply post something once and it runs its short course. Pinterest pins actually have a longer lifespan than any other type of social share. They are constantly being pinned again and again.

6. You don’t have to only post real estate related content

Some of the most shared pins are those relating to makeup tips and tricks, recipes and home décor ideas. Add these types of boards and you will have a nice variety of content to help you build connections with more users.

7. Pins can help your link building

When someone repins your original pin (with your website link in it), you get the link credit regardless of how many times it’s repined by other people.

On top of all the benefits you get from being active on Pinterest, it’s fun and surprisingly intuitive. Be creative, engaging and organized and you’ll start seeing for yourself the many benefits of using Pinterest as a real estate agent!
